Focus on What you Want… April’s Call to Action

Take incremental steps towards that desire.

Steady, consistency will get you further this month than trying to leap forward.

With the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse and a boatload of planets in Aries urging action, the energy can feel impulsive and chaotic.

You might want to make a dash for it.

And the 4-vibration is insisting you get present and focus on what you wish to create.

No distractions or grand moves. You are laying a foundation.

Be clear about what you are working on building and creating.

"Whatever it is you are pursuing, whatever it is you are seeking, whatever it is you are creating, be careful not to quit too soon."

~ Elizabeth Gilbert

March’s 3-vibrational energy was body-focused... supporting you in seeking pleasure, paying attention to your body, and creatively expressing yourself.

The tone for April is high energy, chomping at the bit, eager to push forward after feeling like the first three months of the year were a frustrating stop-start or slow-your-roll zone.

It was hard to get traction or momentum on launching things.

Which seems weird for a 1-vibration year, which is all about new beginnings and creating what you desire.

The Cosmic Slowdown Effect during the first quarter of 2026 was due to:

  • The Lunar Year of the Snake energy lasted until mid-February, which holds similar letting-go, endings/completions energy as the 9-vibration of 2025.

  • The Lunar Year of the Fire Horse dashed on the scene on February 17, during a Mercury retrograde period.
    • So, it was handicapped in bringing in the forward-moving flow of energy.

  • The post Mercury retrograde shadow ends on April 9, signaling that the cosmic slowdown has ended. (woohoo!)

With the New Moon on April 17, you have the gates thrown open, and with so many planets in Aries, there’s a sense of just do it now, dammit.

Aries can be impetuous, though.

So, movement for the sake of movement isn’t going to yield the results you want.

April is a 4 vibration, and 2026 is a 1-year and the start of a new 9-year cycle.

If you haven’t already decided what you want to create or grow into, now is the time to pause and connect with yourself.

  • What do you desire?
  • What would delight you?
  • What would expand your life?
  • What do you wish to experience?

You don’t need all the details.

Start with a feeling for what you’d like your life to be like.

Baby steps still get you where you want to go.

When you focus your energy on what you desire, instead of what you don’t want, you open up the possibilities available to you.

“At any moment, you have two voices in your head:

One that tells you that you can’t, and another that tells you that you can.

Which will prove true?

The one you give the most attention to. The one you act on. The one you make a stand for.”

~ Alan Cohen

The key themes of the 4-vibration are:

Focus, Dedicated Effort, Organized, Responsible, Consistent,

Foundation-building (work as well as family), Detail-oriented,

Process, Planning, Practical, Stability, and Security

Some of the ways April’s 4-vibration combined with 2026’s 1-vibration may show up for you this month:

The Urge to get Organized:

Both the 1 and 4 vibrations like things organized. Everything in its place. Neat, orderly, and dependable. This may inspire you to

  • Clean out that closet, dresser, room, or garage that’s been bugging you
  • Tackle paperwork you’ve ignored for far too long
  • Clear clutter in your environment, including your digital world, and your thinking
  • Reorganize, streamline, and create efficient systems to support you

Begin Planning for the Future:

Both the 1 and 4 vibrations love to have a detailed plan. This may encourage you to

  • Jot down where you wish to go, what you wish to experience, who you would like to be/become
  • Sketch or map out how you are planning to get there (create a plan for your vision that feels doable and will lead you forward, even if it is baby steps)
  • If you are feeling inspired, incorporate strategy and timeframes.
  • And if you are trying to get something done, like a project, then pick a due date.
    • Put it on the calendar, commit to it, then plan backward from that date to see when you need to start and what you have to do each day or week to complete your project.

Create More Stability:

The 4-vibration reminds you to build stable foundations for your life now and going forward, and to be practical.

  • What do you need to take care of that you’ve been neglecting or avoiding?
  • What steps do you need to take to create a more stable foundation in your life?

You don’t have to do them all at once or do everything, either.

Just be aware of what they are and put a plan in place to address them this month!

“You’re never too old, it’s never too late,

and it’s never the wrong time to do something you love.”

~ Marie Forleo

Now let’s take a look at the Shadow Side of the 4 + 1 energy combo this month…

The top two shadow aspects are perfectionism and control. Here’s how they may show up in your life:

The Need to Control:

Really notice where you are trying to control things and manage others… including managing other people’s emotions and reactions.

Understand that this behavior or “need” stems from insecurity and possibly fear.

  • Why do you feel you have to control stuff? What is really going on?
  • What will happen if you aren’t in control? What are you afraid of?

Notice where others try to control you. What does that bring up for you?

Exploring these questions can provide you with the insights that will help you heal this tendency.

The Perfectionism Trap:

This is such a common affliction! Perfectionism and its sisters, Resistance and Procrastination.

Confession time: Perfectionism, followed by a heavy dose of resistance or procrastination, is one of my weaknesses.

Please know, there is no such thing as “perfect.” It is purely subjective, and an ever-moving scale or target.

Instead, aim for good enough. Or excellence.

Procrastination, Resistance, and Perfection are byproducts of fear.

When they set up camp in your life, ask yourself,

“What am I really afraid of?”

You might be afraid that

  • You’re not good enough,
  • You’ll be judged in unkind ways,
  • You don’t know how,
  • You’ll be wrong, and you need to be right
  • You’re going to make a mistake or look stupid

All of these are very common. Even very accomplished people still wrestle with these gremlins.

Just be aware of what is triggering your reaction, and then be kind to yourself

“Worrying is using your imagination to create something you don’t want.”

~ Abraham-Hicks

Bottom Line

Decide what you want. Give yourself permission to have it.

  • Focus on your desire… what you want to create in your life.
  • Take incremental steps to get there. Think process over individual goals.
  • Four is a no-nonsense number… be practical, pay attention to your thoughts and actions, and stay as present as possible.

Take aligned actions towards that desire (or multiple desires), every day if possible.

With love and appreciation for you,

Karen
