Allowing Change… Embracing May’s 5-Vibration

The old ways are no longer working… in the world and probably in your life as well.

The new has yet to be birthed.

You can park in a holding pattern, or you can stop resisting and start leaning into allowing necessary changes to happen.  

You know what those changes are.

The good news is that May’s energy can help you make those changes, or begin making them, so you can have more of what you desire in your life.

You may be avoiding them.

Yep, I do too. It seems easier.

And change can seem daunting.

Truth is, avoiding postpones your joy and delays the inevitable while draining your life force.  

Resistance might be one of the most exhausting things you can do to yourself. On par with running back-to-back marathons!

Choose to view change as a new adventure (rather than a fear).

May is a 5-vibration in numerology.

The key aspects of the 5-vibration are:

Change, Flexibility, Adaptability,

Freedom, Adventure, Free-spirited, Travel,

Communication, Curiosity, Versatility

Playfulness and Romance

 

May’s energy is also poking at you to Lighten Up!

Allow more time for fun, laughter, and playfulness in your daily life.

This alone can start shifting your life in a more positive trajectory.

 

Here are some ways the combination of May’s 5 vibration and 2026’s 1 vibration may show up for you this month:

Changes:

Remember, the 1 vibration is urging you to claim your place in the world and to be more of your authentic self, instead of who you think you should be.

The 5 vibration prefers to enjoy the journey and have a sense of freedom, curiosity,  and variety.

Get clear on what you desire and go for it.

  • What changes (or life tweaks) could you make to better support and honor yourself?
  • Are you feeling called to step out in a bigger way?
  • What roles and masks have you been hiding behind that it is now time to drop?
  • Where do you need to take your power back?
  • Where do you need to create or reinforce boundaries?
  • How can you add more joy or lightness to your life?

Yep.

Change can be scary, even when you know it’s for the best… because it is stepping into the unknown.  

You don’t have to change everything to get closer to what you desire in life. Small changes will make big differences.

Flexibility: 

The 5 is free-flowing and naturally flexible like the water or the breeze.

The 1 prefers having a vision and a plan.

Where can you find a working balance between being flexible yet intentional?

  • Could you create a flexible routine if you currently have none?
  • Could you loosen up a rigid or packed schedule if you like to over-schedule everything?
    • Create more breathing space for yourself.
  • Are there areas of your life where you are being too rigid or controlling, including your behaviors, beliefs, and expectations?
  • Are you resisting shifts that are going on around you, in you, and in the world?
  • Are you willing to be flexible and open to other ways of being, or must things be your way?
    • Notice where you might be coming from fear and resisting the changes going on around you.
    • Notice when or where the need to be right might be limiting your joy.

Let some of the free-spirited flexibility of the 5 vibration loosen things up a bit for you.

Fun and Adventure: 

The 5-vibration often sees life as a fun adventure and wants to dream, romanticize, and explore.

The 1-vibration is open to adventure, exploring, creating, and innovating.

This is a great month to

  • Travel, go on an adventure, and experience a change of scenery… even if only for a day or two.
  • Eat at a different restaurant or try something new at a favorite place.
  • Let the child in you come out and play.

You may be surprised at how much progress you make in your adult life when you take time to have fun and explore.

The Shadow Side

Some common ways the Shadow aspects of May’s 5-vibration and 2026’s 1 vibration may appear in your life: 

Impatience

  • The 5-vibration may want to toss everything out and start over, rather than focus on the thing you wish to change.
  • The 1-vibration wants it to happen immediately if not sooner.

Distraction:

  • Bright-shiny-object syndrome
  • Boredom
  • Flightiness or fickleness
  • Confusion
  • Procrastination
  • Checking out

Struggle:

  • Resistance
  • Avoidance
  • Inconsistency
  • Overextended
  • Unreliable
  • Repressed
  • Controlling
  • Dogmatic

Drama: 

  • Impulsive
  • Rebellious
  • Moody
  • Sarcastic
  • Critical
  • Angry
  • Greedy
  • Envious
  • Acting out

 

If you find yourself experiencing any of these, take the opportunity to pause and check in with yourself.

  • Put your hand on your heart and ask:
    • What’s this really about?
    • What’s going on here that is causing me to act and feel this way?
    • What am I afraid of?
    • What does this remind me of?
  • And listen.
  • Be open to receiving insight.
  • Instead of reacting, respond and take aligned action from a place of presence.

You can also do something creative or playful to help shift it.
