The power of a word, choosing your theme for the yearA Suggestion for Creating Your Year

Ok, so how many of you came up with a list of New Year’s Resolutions?

How many of you created your goal or business plan and perhaps labored over creating S.M.A.R.T. goals if you are ensconced in a corporate environment?

How do they feel?

(Yes, this is insanely important and yet often overlooked. Stop right now and feel into your goals, your plans your resolutions.

Yes, do it. For you!)

OK... so how do they feel?

Doable?  Joyful? Exciting? Fun? Light? Expansive? Scary (but in a good way)?

Or

Overwhelming? Stupid? Heavy? F-ing ridiculous? Scary (but in a "feel totally screwed" way)?

Yeah… most probably feel heavy and overwhelming.

And I bet your beautiful, logical mind came up with all these grand plans and goals and resolutions… unless it was your boss and the company you work at. But your mind played a big part in it either way.

(For those of you bursting with possibilities who created light-feeling, heart-guided goals and plans, I salute you! You get it and I bet you're already rocking your life or on the way to rocking it. Whoo-hoo!)

For everyone else  (and maybe those lightbeamers too)...

Here’s another idea…

Harness the Power of a Word

Let Spirit (yours, sweetie, not someone else’s) hook you up to a word that will guide the course of your year.

Pull you forward.

Establish your theme for the year.

Present opportunities for you to embody that one small yet insanely powerful Word.

One Word – not a list of words and goals – one word.

I’ve been choosing a word for at least 4 years now instead of going the old school resolutions route (they never worked for me anyway).

Last year my word was TRUST (and so very appropriate for a 7 vibration year!).

The year before that it was CREATE.

This year, when I checked in with Spirit, the word that came in for me for 2015 was SURRENDER.

Holy crap! Seriously?!

Surrender?

OK I get the beauty of it. Surrender to the Divine.

Which is exactly what will help me swim through the 8 vibration energy of 2015.

Why does Surrender help me for 2015?

The key to material mastery of the 8 vibration is letting spirit guide

Well the key to material mastery of the 8 vibration is letting Spirit Guide.

When you pick a word to embody or to be your theme for the year, the Universe arranges opportunities for you to experience the essence of that word.

You will grow and be guided to some cool experiences… if you don’t resist. Yes, resistance is futile!

Finding your word for the year is easy.

You can make it a sacred ritual that you do every year.

You can include meditation.

You can light some candles and incense.

You can add music and dance and sing.

You can go sit in nature or a quiet space in your home.

There is no one way to do this (or anything, really). It's your life, your word.

Here’s one way you can do it:

  • Sit quietly

  • Set your intention to choose a word to embody for the year that will serve your highest good and lead you in the direction you really want to go (pull you forward)

  • Breathe deeply (2-3 relaxing breaths or more)

  • Ask Spirit to suggest some words to be your guide for the year…

    • sometimes I would get multiple words pop in, other times it was one word

  • If you get more than one word jot them down and sit with each one of them and pick the word that resonates with you more… it may feel light, or expansive or even a bit scary (again in a good way).

  • Write your word down somewhere where you will see it and be reminded of it. I often write it on a stone and keep in on my desk.

  • Let go and let the Universe Let Go and let the Universe work its magic(God, Goddess, Higher Power, Creator) work its magic and be open to receive the gifts your word will bring you.

  • Warning… growth will happen!

  • Enjoy

Love & blessings,

Karen
