How your personal year can best use the energy of 2012’s 5 Year vibration

Happy Leap Year!

Yes, this February is a leap year so we have an extra day to get stuff done. I, for one, can certainly use the extra time. How about you?! Personally, I find myself a bit surprised that it is already the middle of February. Whoosh!

Which reminds me of one of my favorite Douglas Adams quote (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy): "I love deadlines; espcially the whooshing sound they make as they go by."

This year is certainly reflecting the vibrant “5” energy of 2012.

It seems like everything is speeding up. I don’t know if you’re experiencing this too.  Then there’s this flip flop thing in play: some days the energy feels intense, other days it feels calmer. 

Now, more than ever, it is important to stay grounded and focused on what you want to create, rather than focus on what isn’t working or feeling good. It’s great to be aware that you are feeling a certain way and acknowledge that. Then shift your focus to what it is you want instead.

For instance, if you are feeling stressed about money or worried about your job, simply be aware of how you are feeling. Then remind yourself that this is only a feeling that you are feeling. It is not who you are. It holds no power over you unless you give it power. Breathe! Now choose to reframe this into what you want to experience instead.

If you use affirmations, create an affirmation that resonates with you on this topic. If you journal, try writing out what you want to experience.  Remember to word it in a positive way and in the present tense.

For the money example, try something like “I trust that all of my needs are met and all of my bills are paid each month.” Then practice gratitude for what you have. Every day give thanks for 5 things that you are grateful for. Watch the shift that takes place when you come from a place of gratitude.

One of the many things I am grateful for is the opportunity I had to speak about numerology at a recent ASU Women’s Conference and take part in several other exciting events last month, like the Dragon Festival and World Angel Day. I feel blessed to have met so many nice people and that I get to do this work too!

What’s in store for you in 2012:

Recently I wrote about the effects to expect from the “universal energy” of the 5 vibration in 2012, and gave a brief overview of the “personal year” vibrations.  Your personal year energy has a stronger influence in your life with the general universal energy of the year as an undercurrent or underlying theme that will be present in everything that is going on.

This year the key is stay flexible and open to change and you will be able to smoothly navigate whatever comes your way. If you resist change, you may find that you have a lot of opportunities show up for you to learn to embrace change!

Math Time!

If you don't know your personal year, get a piece of paper or your calculator and do some simple math...

To determine your personal year add the month you were born + the day of your birth + current year -- adding each number individulaly, not like in math class -- then reduce the total to a single-digit number. Example using my birthday, October 9 would be:  10+9+2012 (1+0+9+2+0+1+2) = 15 = 1+5 = 6. So this is a 6 year for me.

If you are in a 1 Year:  New Beginnings, Individuality & Leadership

The 5 energy of 2012 is supporting your undertakings this year, especially with your ability to communicate and be creative and inventive. Start new things and take the lead on a project. Travel is likely for you this year; perhaps for business or a much needed vacation. New people will enter your life, which may help with your success or the success of a product, project or idea that you have. Take initiative and do things yourself, following your own inner guidance system. If you don’t allow yourself to express leadership, initiative or creativity in some way, you may get into a rut or feel bored. Your ability to communicate and persuade is amplified this year; use it wisely! Combine fun and flexibility with challenge and accept changes that may occur – these will be to your advantage for new avenues to success and happiness.

If you are in a 2 Year: Duality, Cooperation & Collaboration

You may find the 5 energy of 2012 a challenge at times. You are due for a few surprises – good ones! Your charm brings new host friends and possibly romance. Use your intuitive sense when judging the character of people you meet and work with.  Be tactful dealing with people; think before you speak. Collaboration and relationships can be challenging this year with all the changes that may come about. Look for compromise and win-win situations when any disagreements arise. Try seeing the situation from the other person’s perspective. Cooperation, patience and courage – in addition to flexibility and adaptability - are the guides for you this year.

If you are in a 3 Year: Enjoyment, Socializing & Self-Expression

The 5 energy of 2012 supports you adding more mojo to your communications and personality. This year is meant for fun, socializing and pleasure… and possibly romance. Your personality will sparkle like a flame drawing moths and the 5-vibration adds extra “juice” to the mix. Good contacts can be made, so be on the lookout for those that can be of value to you. Communication and persuasion are yours this year so use its powers to present yourself or your ideas to those necessary to your advancement. Use caution with your words (spoken or written) - they can easily work for you or against you, so watch what you say.  Self-expression and nurturing yourself are also important this year. This is a good year to sell whatever you have around you, for the market will be at its peak for you in particular. The 5 energy may cause you to be more “flighty” than usual, or even fickle. Overall, this should be a very happy and successful year for you. 

If you are in a 4 Year: Focus, Work & Foundation-building

The 5 energy of 2012 is unsettling to you. You want to build a solid foundation and know that everything is in its place, yet things keep shifting and changing. This can test your patience and ability to focus. If you become too rigid you may find the carpet pulled out from under you. 

You are building the foundation for your future, so that you will be able to reap the rewards in coming years. This year you may need to course correct a few times. Your energy will be more serious, yet the 5 energy will want you to lighten up and play. Marriages and committed relationships take on additional importance. Be flexible; try to see other people’s perspectives.

What you resist persists – this is the warning for the year for you… the 5 energy will challenge the 4’s need to focus on the work at hand. Allow yourself some “playtime” to appease the energy of the 5 poking at you.
